Biography
Desiree Yackowski is a Senior Paralegal with The Weir Law Firm, LLC assisting with civil, business and commercial litigation, health administration litigation, health care law, real estate, Appellate matters, matrimonial and family law litigation, domestic violence, foreclosures, construction defect litigation, construction defense and a multitude of other specialty legal issues.
Desiree has over 30 years of experience in the legal field. She started her career in 1989 as a Paralegal to the Managing Partner and assisted counsel in the General Practice Unit at Donington, Karcher, Salmond, Ronan & Rainone, P.A. in Edison, New Jersey. In addition to supporting the Managing Partner in the firm’s administrative needs, Desiree assisted in a high volume of matters in municipal law for several entities, auto negligence, medical malpractice, workers compensation and real estate. In 1995 she joined Norris, McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., and continued her career assisting lawyers in the Litigation and Matrimonial departments. Desiree’s experience and expertise in all facets of law are beneficial to clientele ranging from “mom and pop shops” by establishing companies through all of the required documents, manage entities and performing all of the legal requirements for businesses throughout their existence. She substantially assisted with sales, purchases and acquisitions of a variety of entities including multi-million-dollar businesses and companies privately and publicly held both foreign and domestic. Throughout every legal process, Desiree is well versed in the ability to discuss, manage and bring to fruition any and all transactions of the cases to which she is assigned. She performs her legal services as a Senior Paralegal in a professional and dedicated manner. With exquisite legal research abilities and writing abilities, extensive discovery skills, agreement, motion and pleading preparation and QDOR/DRO expertise, her paralegal services are an extreme benefit to every client.

Her accomplishments are broad and include, but are not limited to, precedent case law and legislation work. In the beginning of Desiree’s career she had an intricate role in Megan’s Law and the “Baby M” case appeals and most recently contributed to the revised alimony statute. She has also written various articles for ICLE and coordinated the materials and meetings for the Inns of Court of Central New Jersey.
As a part of the legal community Desiree has contributed and volunteered as Bailiff and Coordinator for Mock Trials for Somerset County which promotes a younger generation in the learning of the judicial system. She assisted many clients through the New Jersey State Bar Military Assistance Program and Safe+Sound Somerset County. Desiree is a supporter of Middle Earth and the Humane Society of Somerset County. She is the Treasurer of the Board for her home owner’s association of her community and the Recording Secretary of the Board for the Bound Brook Fire Department No. 2.
Due to her extensive background in litigation, she was recommended to participate in and completed the Litigation Mediation Program through Rutgers, The State University Institute for Professional Education to enhance the techniques in Alternative Dispute Resolution in 2009.
Desiree’s experience in a multitude of legal avenues is not a “jack of all trades” but instead a niche of being in the legal field for her entire career. Her thoroughness and ability to perform legal services in the most cost-efficient manner is paramount to continuous client satisfaction.
